Incontinence
Brought on as a side effect of another condition, incontinence is not uncommon. In the United States, more than thirteen million people are estimated to experience a form of incontinence 85% of them women.
While it can be caused by a range of conditions including pregnancy, childbirth, pelvic surgery, spinal injury, and cognitive degeneration such as Alzheimer's disease incontinence can cause discomfort and embarrassment, frequently preventing sufferers from seeking their doctor's help. Often, however, incontinence can benefit from treatment, and because it may indicate the presence of a serious health condition, it should always be brought to your doctor's attention.
