I bought the medium compression for a 16-hr flight to SE Asia, since compression is recommended for prevention of deep vein thrombosis. In general, I need support for walking around and especially for sitting with my legs down or my legs ache. I have not been able to wear any sort of knee highs since high school since the tops were too tight and I'm 60. Anyway, since I measured my legs and bought my size (bottom of range for ankle, top of range for calf), no problem! They don't hurt at the top and they stay up! I actually had them on for 35 hours of travel and my legs didn't ache. I also bought the light compression for everyday. Now I can wear pants and not have to have support hose or leggings underneath. What a distinct pleasure! I got black. They look like tights. If your legs fit the chart, I'm sure you'll love these!! (By the way, my legs and feet weren't hot either in SE Asia. There's no downside to these!!) Follow the directions for putting them on. After the first time, you'll be a pro!
I'd recommend these to anyone. I wish they had larger sizes e.g., XXL, though so everyone could fit the chart and wear them!!
